The Jewish community is a new community that has been established in an Arab country like UAE recently, This has not happened since a very long time. Around 350 Jews are living in the UAE mostly in Dubai. They arrived in the country mostly from North America and Europe to do business, commerce trade, and other work-related purposes.
The first Jewish synagogue was established in 2015 at a Villa in a quiet neighborhood in Dubai. Today there are two synagogues in Dubai located in a residential neighborhood. The Friday Kiddush and the Shabbat minyan are done in the synagogue, and the community also celebrates all of the Jewish holidays. Initially, the Jews kept a low profile but gladly in the last year, a fresh wind of change was noticed for the Jewish community by the Emirati authorities.
2019 was declared as the “year of tolerance” in the UAE, and the authorities officially announced that Jews needed to be welcomed into the country.
Emirati officials publicly announced that “The Abrahamic Family House” an Multifaith complex will be complited untill 2022. The complex will be a beacon of mutual understanding, harmonious coexistence and peace among people of faith and goodwill, place for religious tolerance and education, bringing faiths together and sending a message of unity to the world.
It consists of a mosque, church, synagogue and educational center to be built on Saadiyat Island, the cultural heart of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.
